Soothing Remedy for Bug Bites

  • 1 tsp. Organic Unrefined Coconut oil
  • 3 drops of Tea Tree oil
  • 3 drops of Lavender oil
  1. Mix all of the ingredients in a small bowl.
  2. Apply the mixture directly to the affected area.
  3. Store the rest for future use.
Coconut oil works great, because it's antimicrobial, soothing, and moisturizing. The tea tree is antibacterial, and the lavender is soothing.

THIS NATURAL REMEDY SHOULD NOT REPLACE MEDICAL TREATMENT. IF YOU DO NOT FEEL WELL, SEEK MEDICAL ATTENTION.

Homemade Moisturizing Hair Treatment-Super Simple!

If you have dry, unmanageable hair, I have the perfect recipe to counteract that! Now, I'm a big fan of hot oil treatments. I make my own, which is infused with herbs and essential oils. However, for your day-to-day routine, you'd probably enjoy something quicker. Here is a simple recipe that you can start using right away.
What you will need:
  • Jojoba Oil
  • Extra Virgin Unrefined Coconut Oil
  • Aloe Vera Gel
You can buy all three at Trader Joe's or at Mountain Rose Herbs.
  1. Depending on the length of your hair, mix 3 equal parts of each ingredient.
  2. Apply the mixture to your scalp and hair.
  3. Leave it on overnight.
  4. Shower in the morning.
The good thing about the aloe vera gel is that its moisturizing, and it keeps your hair from getting your pillowcase oily. Coconut oil is very moisturizing, and it will curb dandruff if you have any. Jojoba oil (it's really a wax) is similar to your own scalp's sebum (natural oil), and it will leave your hair shiny. Your hair will feel softer and more manageable if you continue to do this.

Ninon: a woman who at 85, looked 25. Here’s the recipe…

To read more about Ninon, just look below. I know you really just want to get to the recipe first.
  • 4 oz. of Almond Oil
  • 3 oz. of Lard (I would substitute with coconut oil)
  • 1 oz. of Spermaceti (or chopped or shaved candlewax, or Candelilla Wax)
  • Onion juice
  • Rosewater
  1. Melt all of the ingredients together in a pot or double boiler.
  2. Stir until it cools.
  3. Add a teaspoon of rosewater.
  4. Let cool, then store.
  5. Apply once a day to the forehead, face, and neck before bed.
About Ninon de L'Enclos:
She was a courtesan in Paris, and a regular at Versailles. It is said that she met a man who offered her a recipe that would keep her beautiful for the rest of her life. Louis XIV called her "the marvel of his reign", and men in their twenties often called upon her even though she could have been their grandmother.
